John Menadue | Policy is easy, implementation is hard

This week Crikey‘s health blog Croaky suggests that politicians and public servants seriously interested in reforming health care should take a look at John Menadue’s article in the Medical Journal of Australia.

Croaky journalist Melissa Sweet says “Unlike the discussion papers over at the National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission, Menadue offers some straightforward political strategies for achieving change.”

In the article Menadue proposes that political will is needed to combat the vested interests who have long controlled our health system. He calls for an independent Australian Health Commission to advise the Minister and a re-design of the current dysfunctional system.
