Bio

Senator Lyn Allison is Leader of the Australian Democrats and has been spokesperson for telecommunications for most of the last ten years. As chair of the Environment, Communications, IT & the Arts References Committee from 1997 to 2005, she presided over inquiries into Australia's telecommunications network and regulatory regime and has carried the debate for the Democrats on each tranch of the privatisation of Telstra.
