21 July 2009 - 9:00am - 22 July 2009 - 5:00pm
How can State and Federal governments work together more effectively to improve the services they deliver? What are the real distinctions between federalism (a theory of government) and intergovernmental relations in a federation (how the theory works in practice)? What are the real relationships between the different levels of government and how does this affect policy making?
The Intergovernmental Relations conference in Canberra, ACT July 21 -22 will bring together public sector practitioners from national, state and local governments, peak bodies and academics to examine these questions and rethink cooperative federalism.
Conference Topics include:
- Commonwealth-state reform
