Clare Hughes

Bio

Clare Hughes has been CHOICE's Senior Food Policy Officer since 2003. She has academic qualifications in nutrition and public health.

As Senior Food Policy Officer, Clare is responsible for ensuring that the interests of consumers are considered during the food policy and regulatory processes. Clare's areas of responsibility include childhood obesity, food labelling, nutrition and health claims about foods, fortification, genetic modification, and the food regulatory system and standards development.

Clare is currently a member of the NHMRC Dietary Guidelines Working Committee, and represents CHOICE on a number of food regulatory advisory groups.
