Free market solutions to climate change can be extremely effective, if they don’t fall prey to the numerous risks involved. Politicians never enjoy causing economic pain which would initially occur in the event of an ETS, in order to soften the blow they would strip the policy of it’s real innovations and render it void. What’s more is that the free-market is prone to scams, whose to say that individuals and companies wouldn’t find ways to wrought the system?
