Frances Kitt (Policy Adviser)


Frances joined CPD as a Policy Adviser in July 2019. Her work focusses mainly on the Cities and Settlement Initiative where she is working to develop new approaches to boosting refugee economic participation in Australia, including through place-based approaches and encouraging greater employer engagement. Frances is also responsible for communications and events matters at CPD. Frances has previously gained experience as a researcher and public policy analyst in think tanks in Australia and abroad. In her previous role at the Lowy Institute, she worked on a range of policy issues related to Australian foreign and security policy in the Asia Pacific, including Australia's engagement with Northeast Asia and, regional security dynamics. In 2016, Frances graduated with a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. She is passionate about using her policy research and analysis skills to build practical evidence-based policy in Australia and its wider region.
