Jacki Hayes (Program Director)

Jacki has over two decades’ experience in many aspects of social policy, particularly public policy design, analysis and leadership across education and health, in both NSW and Victoria. After moving from Sydney to Melbourne in 2018, Jacki held the roles of Executive Director, Early Childhood and School Education Reform (Dept of Education & Training) and Director, Intergovernmental Relations (Dept of Health & Human Services).

In NSW, she held senior executive roles in policy and strategy with the Department of Education and Training and Communities NSW, and was closely involved in mental health reforms during five years at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Jacki was a policy adviser to a NSW Minister in the education and health portfolios and has worked in communications roles in both the non-profit and private sectors. She holds a communications degree from UTS, an honours degree in political science from UNSW and has also pursued postgraduate museum studies out of sheer curiosity and interest.
