Dr Tom Gole is Executive Director – Local Government and Strategic Operations at the Queensland Treasury Corporation. Tom was formerly a director at Mandala, where he lead the Brisbane office. Tom’s work focuses on unlocking economic potential at the intersection data, policy and technology. He is a former principal with Boston Consulting Group, where he was part of the public sector and infrastructure leadership groups. He has also previously been executive vice-president – strategy at Go1, an education technology business backed by SEEK, Microsoft and Softbank. Earlier in his career he worked at the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and Reserve Bank of Australia. He holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard and degrees in economics and law from the University of Queensland. Tom’s expertise and interests include economic growth, regional development, industry policy and natural resource economics. He has also worked extensively on public finance, international macroeconomics, criminal justice and human services delivery.
