Prior to joining CPD in 2026 Miles represented the aluminium industry, in Australia and globally, as it grappled with issues of sustainability, energy supply and the transition to net zero. In Australia Miles led the industry’s input to key policies such as the Safeguard Mechanism and Renewable Energy Target, and internationally he facilitated the industry’s response to Paris Agreement GHG emission reduction targets.
Miles has a Bachelors Degree in Science and has many years experience working on the intersection of sustainability, energy and industry policy. Outside of work, Miles is a keen cyclist and splits his time between Canberra and the NSW far south coast.
