Ryan is a policy adviser working in the social services and wellbeing focus areas at the Centre for Policy Development. He is passionate about using community collaboration and a range of research methods to inform practical and sustainable social change. He is particularly dedicated to connecting communities, practitioners, and policy makers to produce a more equitable system for all.
Prior to working with CPD, Ryan was a researcher at the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide, translating lived experience data into actionable policy recommendations. In 2023, Ryan completed his PhD in the sociology of music at the University of New South Wales, examining how musical participation and improvisation can best facilitate social change.
Ryan is also a keen educator, having lectured and tutored at the University of New South Wales and the Council on International Educational Exchange.
